Brown Crab Meat
All our crab meat is pot-caught British crab, carefully picked and prepared in Devon.
Pots are a selective and passive form of fishing causing no damage to the marine environment. Most importantly, the crab is alive when bought to the surface. This means if the crab is undersize or has recently shed its shell, it will be returned to the sea allowing it to grow and breed again.
The distinctive brown meat comes from the top of the shell cavity and is creamy and rich. For those that enjoy the umami taste it can be spread on toast like pâté, but is often used in soups, sauces and stocks to add depth of flavour.

- Suitable for freezing
The daily fish market closes very early, so when ordering for 'next day' delivery, if fresh crab is unavailable, we will use (previously) frozen crab.
As a fresh caught product, due to many different factors such as bad weather conditions and seasonality, product may occasionally be substituted with a similar alternative - we will always notify you of this.
